The French tax administration has just (finally) recognized the marriage between two male French residents (I think one is French, the other Dutch) who were married in the Netherlands.

From Slate XX Factor

Of course, Bristol Palin is not the first vice-presidential child to be pregnant out of wedlock. That honor goes to Mary Cheney. (Perhaps this is something the GOP vetting committee looks for?)

But at least Bristol is allowed to get married.

Marc, I love the design of your new Ning!

For those who are interested, I have created a Ning for the defense of marriage as a sacred institution. You can find it here.

Maybe we should post here to the comment wall when LGBT issues come up elsewhere on the diner. I made some comments about my own personal coming out here, and in the Book Club, I mentioned the forthcoming book The 19th Wife which has a gay angle.

The Olympics gender-testing thing has also been coming up in various news threads.

Bishop Gene is visiting Glasgow this weekend, will preside over the mass and deliver the sermon.

Welcome, MF! (Funny, where I live, "LBC" stands for Lancaster Bible College--a decidedly UN-gay-friendly place!)

(Okay, I guess that's not really funny. Feh.) :-p
