I know! That's how I heard about the show, too! Well, I also worked at MSNBC with Alison and she told me she was going to work on it. I was soooo jealous! I reeaaally wanted to work on it! All summer I was listening to the podcasts and reading the blog and hoping hoping hoping they'd hire me and then they did!

At some point, I'll try to get a more ranger-ish pic up.

My current Favorite Recipe

Raspberry Peach Crumble

I made some changes in that I: left out the lemon juice (didn't have any) and used apples instead of raspberries.

What's for dinner?--August 11, 2008

The tomatoes in the garden are going crazy and I'm not in the mood for more spaghetti so to use a few of them up Scottjeff made a giant pot of chili tonight. If we were to have a BPP Diner get-together at Chez Ranger, I'm pretty sure I could accommodate most everyone, there is that much… Continue

What's for dinner?--August 10, 2008

Finally we're having something that's not chicken or ground beef. Don't get me wrong. I like chicken. But we've been in a bit of a rut at Chez Ranger. So finding a sirloin tip roast in the fridge this evening elicited a squeal of joy and a happy dance. Tonight the roast is being served with mashed potatoes and sugar snap peas.

What's for dinner?--August 6, 2008

Boycub woke up with a 101.5 degree fever, so he and I have been taking it easy today. Well, I worked from home on a major tour I have to do on Saturday, but I got to stay in my pjs all day, so close enough.

Tonight I'm making a mostly homemade spaghetti sauce, and that's only becaus… Continue

What's for dinner?--August 5, 2008

Tonight on Iron Chef: Suburbia we're having taco chicken. Ooh, sounds fancy. Not really. I browned some chicken thighs in the skillet then opened up a package of grocery store brand mild taco seasoning. I poured that over the chicken with about a cup of water then searched for something to have with it. Scottjeff pulled out the rice cooker and rice and then unearthed from the fridge....brussel sprouts.

I love brussell sprouts. I'm even trying to grow some in the back yard this summer. I… Continue

What's for dinner?--August 4, 2008

Comfort food tonight. Scottjeff cooked, which is, I suppose the ultimate in comfort food, when someone else cooks it for you. Tonight's meal is what my mother claims is the only thing I'd eat as a kid--beanie weinies.

When I cook it, I add mustard, ketchup and onions to the beans… Continue
