As the year and the decade draw to a close, lists are everywhere. We're asking why we love them so much and what the proliferation of lists says about us a culture.
This week's demonstrations in Iran have shown that the opposition "Green Movement" is gaining political strength. But Ayatollah Khamenei and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard aren't giving up power without a fight. We'll assess the strength of each side and look at where the battle is heading.
Women have fought to legitimize their work as housewives, but now more men are assuming these roles and taking on the battle themselvs. As part of our Work in Progress series, The Current is taking a look at stay-at-home Dads.
We get the latest on the negotiations to release Gilad Shalit, the Israeli soldier who was captured by Hamas in June of 2006. And we look at why Israel has a policy of negotiating with groups that it considers terrorists when so many other countries refuse.
We speak with the co-editor of a new book who says drug companies are failing women and that the consequences can be deadly.

I wanted to check in with you one more time... I think I'm done with this site - it's all over the place, and a few people seem bent on hogging the conversation.
Yeah... I'm in a funky place mentally, today. Still flying between depression and excitement about some work/music projects I'm into - so, all over the place!
Re: BPP - if I heard Matt, Tricia or Laura, etc. were heading up something where I could contribute, teriffic (I think THEY'VE undoubtedly moved on as well).
Other than that... I've really enjoyed our little talks. So something good from this week!
If you ever need to write, try me at gtwonacott@gmail.com. I hope you're having a good week.
Your Buddy in Cali,
Glenn
Yeah, as I work at home, I have Internet radio (BPP ALWAYS first thing) going in the background. Often ATC, ME (also Le Show!), etc. are white noise, but I don't seem to do silence well, being ADD and all. But if I glossed over parts of BPP, I'd always go back and re-listen.
Speaking of work, just because you probably couldn't care less (hah!), I'm actively trying to get to either Denver or Seattle. Need to be back in a city, but with nature nearby. And I LOVE rain.
Well it's Monday morning. Monday bummer morning. How's your day??
I've posted another silly list - keeps the moroseness (huh??) away for a minute or two.
So thanks for writing. It helps.
Meanwhile, I see we're comparing kid pictures? Me - two girls, 8 & 9. Lights of my life. Masters of my universe. That sort of thing.
Thanks for reading and writing!!
I'm listening to today's final BPP show just now, midnight (waited until I had the house alone so I could have a good cry.)
Ha! Just saw your "hard cider" comment! Way to go!
Rob, that is kind of funny, I love that we have something in common. The kids are older now, my oldest birthday is in October, synchronicty? My youngest is 3, can hardly believe the time has gone by so fast.
Ranger Susie, how old are yours?
Rob
